 WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR

Entry level salary: $40,045

Murphy, North Carolina, is dedicated to providing its residents with the highest quality of life and pure, potable water. We're seeking a dedicated and skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team and be part of our mission to ensure safe drinking water for our community.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the operations of the water treatment plant. Conduct routine water tests to ensure optimum water quality. Calibrate equipment and perform maintenance checks. Respond to mechanical issues and coordinate repairs. Administer necessary chemicals for water treatment. Maintain detailed logs of operations, tests, and actions taken.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Valid North Carolina driver's license. Position must obtain C-Surface Water Operator Certification within six months of employment. 

Relevant certifications for water treatment (specific to operator level). Knowledge of environmental science, physics, and chemistry is a plus. Experience in a water treatment facility (varies by operator level).
