Mission Statement
The mission of the Mayor’s Rising Stars is to empower local youth to become engaged community leaders through service, leadership development, and exposure to educational and career opportunities.
Purpose
The Mayor’s Rising Stars exists to give high school students in Murphy a meaningful platform to serve their community while discovering their own leadership capacity. The program opens doors — whether students are headed into the workforce after graduation or pursuing higher education. Murphy presents real public challenges that young people can meaningfully address, and this program equips them to do exactly that.
This is not just a volunteer opportunity. Students are guided through project design and management, community problem-solving, internship exploration, college exposure, and civic engagement. The goal is to develop the whole leader.
