Murphy Art Walk: Downtown Murphy NC

Our First Friday Art Walk aims to provide our community of artists and crafts-persons, musicians and performers a platform for exhibiting and selling their original artworks, while supporting our local businesses.

Our purpose is to give our visitors a chance to experience the fullness of the arts at the neighborhood-level. We encourage all to explore the essence of our downtown and our talented artists at our Murphy Art Walk! Come downtown and join in the FUN the First Friday of each month – May through December 5 PM – 8 PM – rain or shine.

There will be music throughout downtown, arts and crafts on the sidewalks, performances, art demonstrations, and interactive experiences for the kids. Our downtown merchants are open late, until 8PM on Art Walk evenings. Come downtown to shop, experience the arts, listen and dance to the music, dine in our restaurants and cafes, and explore our shops, galleries and boutiques.

There is no admission charge and lots of good, small-town FUN!

As you walk along downtown you can watch for the Yellow Flags outside businesses letting you know that they are participating in the event.  You’ll find artist demonstrations, musical performances, food, information, and meet some of the most local, interesting, and friendly people too.

Sponsored by the Valley River Arts Guild at the Murphy Art Center, the Murphy Art Walk spotlights local artists of every medium. Music featured and sometimes a historical/paranormal ghost walk.
