The annual Murphy Christmas Parade is a true, community event! Come out for music, lights and laughter as floats, trucks, and tractors travel from the Valley Village Shopping Center to the L&N Depot. There are safe places to watch along the whole route. Bring the whole family and watch for Santa at the end!
Participant Registration
We welcome community members and organizations to participate for FREE in the Murphy Christmas Parade. Please note the following before you register using the link below.
- The Murphy Christmas Parade will begin at 6:00pm at the Valley Village Shopping Center and will end at the L&N Depot. All parade participants will be staged behind Valley Village Shopping Center starting at 4:00pm through 5:45pm. Please approach the shopping center via Black and Gold Drive into the Murphy High School campus and continue past Murphy Middle School to the side entrance of Valley Village Shopping Center. Volunteers will direct you.
- Individuals who are walking in the parade will have the opportunity to join the parade at Murphy Elementary School (much shorter walk than starting at the shopping center). Volunteers will be at MES to direct you.
- There is no charge to register, however we require pre-registration. This allows us to plan for the number of entries. Please don't show up without registering.
- All floats (trailers or flatbeds) will be eligible for awards.
- This will be a night parade so please light up your float or vehicle. Also, make sure walkers have festive lights. Suggestions include lights, glow bracelets, glow sticks. No open flames!
- Horse-riders must be prepared to keep animal waste off of the roadway.
- Please bring lots of candy and please save enough candy to throw the majority in Downtown. This is the area where the most parade-watchers will be. We do not want disappointed kids in downtown if everyone has run out of candy..
