2006 International / Rosenbauer 1500 gpm / 1000 gallon engine. Our department received a FEMA grant as part of the “Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program” which made the acquisition of this apparatus possible. We took delivery and placed in service on December 1, 2006.

1995 Freightliner/EEI 1250 gpm/ 1000 gallon engine. Our department took delivery of this engine on September 8, 1995.

1981 Pierce/Chevrolet 400 gpm/ 250 gallon mini-pumper. This mini-pumper was purchased in 1981 thanks to a generous donation from the employees at the Levi-straus company, also a donation from Murphy Power Board. The Murphy City Council and the Cherokee County Commissioners also made a contribution. The remainder of the money was raised by department fundraisers.

1989 Atlas/International / 1150 gallon tanker/service truck. This pump and tank was originally on a 1978 Ford F800 chassis. It was remounted on this 1989 international chassis and converted into a service truck in 1998.

2010 US Tanker, International 7400 chassis, 2000 gallon, 500 gpm hale pump with 10" side and rear remote dumps. This tanker was purchased on a FEMA grant. Our department took delivery of this tanker in December 2009.

1993 Sutphen 70+ Aerial Platform was acquired by the Town of Murphy Fire Department following several years of planning. This apparatus will be utilized to further the growth potential for both the Town of Murphy and Murphy Rural Fire districts. Our department took delivery in April 2005.

2021 Ford / Rosenbauer engine, 1250 gpm, 300 gallon water / foam tank. This apparatus replaced a 1981 Chevrolet / Pierce 400 gpm, 200 gallon mini-pumper. This apparatus has several unique features including 4 wheel-drive, light tower, built-in foam capability, engine-mounted generator and front winch. Our department took delivery in July, 2022.

2007 Sutphen engine, 1500 gpm, 825 gallon water / foam tank. This apparatus replaced a 1981 Ford 750 gpm, 500 gallon engine which was on loan from the NC forestry cooperative program. Our department took delivery in August, 2021.

1998 Sutphen 95’ Aerial Platform, 1500 gpm pump, 300 gallon water tank. This apparatus was acquired to enhance operations with multi-story structures. Our department took delivery in May, 2014.

2001 Horton breathing air / confined space trailer. Our department took delivery in October, 2017. This trailer is utilized to support breathing air requirements and confined space operations.

2000 Scotty fire prevention / education trailer. Our department took delivery in September, 2017. This trailer is utilized to deliver fire prevention / safety training.

2013 Chevy 3500

Our department took delivery in March, 2023. Plans include equipping this vehicle with a forestry skid unit to enhance our wildland fire mitigation efforts.
